We have finished our Charter Year at Archer High School. It was a great school year! As we begin our second year, your continued support is important as we continue to build an “achievement culture” at Archer High School. Last year, we experienced many memorable firsts. Whether it was the first football game, the first honors night, PTSA Open House or graduation, all of these events were milestones at Archer High School. During our Charter Year, 70% of our students were involved in extra-curricular activities. We hope to watch this statistic grow as we enter our second year.
We will have approximately 1,706 students for the 2010-2011 school year. Of course, this means that we will be adding staff to accommodate the addition of students entering Archer High School. We will be adding five more advanced placement classes for next year. This fall, over 41% of our student body will be taking one or more advanced placement classes.
We continue to work in vertical alignment with our cluster schools in order to prepare our students for their future endeavors. This alignment involves teachers and administrators as we look at data that will help us to identify areas of need and improvement. I am very proud to say that our cluster schools work extremely well together for the benefit of our students.
I am asking you to join me as we build a tradition of academic and athletic excellence at Archer. We must work together to support and encourage our students as they move forward to the next level of their future in our society. Please consider joining Archer’s PTSA and Booster Organizations to support our students. Also, please take a look at our Founding 500 link on the website for additional support information for Archer High School.
